Web Form Design: Best Practices Guide to Convert Leads into Customers
Forms are often the forgotten element. They are seen as a simple technical formality, when in reality they are the main bottleneck of your business. If...

Some digital businesses seem to have that certain something, that secret formula that makes them grow and grow and grow… Startups that succeed in a matter of months, ecommerce stores that skyrocket their sales year on year, subscription models that expand at an incredible pace… We can all think of an example.
But what is that secret ingredient? Although it might seem like something intrinsic to those companies or just a matter of luck, in reality it's nothing more than a data-driven strategy. A reliable, agile and actionable strategy. And believe it or not, it can be within your reach too.
In this article we're going to show you how having a data-driven strategy is within reach for your business and how, thanks to it, you'll be able to multiply your growth. Here you'll find the keys to achieving this, plus success stories from our clients who got there through solid digital analytics.
That certain something that successful digital businesses have isn't as secret as it seems. In fact, it's a matter of organisation, discipline and method. The method of basing all your business decisions on reliable data. In other words, trusting your web analytics.
Being a data-driven company is about much more than having a couple of charts showing your sales and business progress. Truly being a company that fully trusts its data is, precisely, the key to making your business grow at the pace it really needs. Because data is far more strategic than many people think:
Your web analytics lets you identify opportunities that slip past you (and past your competitors too). When you make good use of your data, you can identify key trends or changes that could shape the future of your business.
Data is also essential for optimising your processes (both sales and internal operations) and the messages you send to your customers. When you trust your analytics you can identify what works and what doesn't, doubling down on what's actually bringing you results.
Without data, there's no personalisation. And your user experience needs to invest as much as possible in this kind of action that builds customer loyalty and facilitates conversion. Thanks to your analytics you'll be able to better segment your users and offer them a service and experience tailored to their real needs.
In short, your data helps you not only to anticipate potential changes and trends, but also to make more agile decisions and avoid acting too late. A resilient business is one that's prepared for anything. And for that you need to know what's happening at all times.
When we started working with DogfyDiet, we noticed something: their subscription model was working, but there was something that wasn't quite taking off. And that something was their web analytics. DogfyDiet had a lot of data, but lacked the structure needed to make the most of it.
We decided to bring some order to their analytics so we could turn all that data into useful insights for their business. To do so, we carried out a deep analysis of user behaviour on the website using all the key metrics. That allowed us to shape a new way of approaching the data:
Advanced user segmentation — With all the information available, we designed different user segments for DogfyDiet, helping to distinguish between their behaviours, needs and even priorities. This gave the brand a much better understanding of its customers.
Personalisation throughout the entire experience — Better segmentation means a better design approach. With the different audience profiles in place, we started designing alongside DogfyDiet different experiences that better suited each case. A truly tailored website.
Interactive dashboards for better decision-making — At Boost we opted for more strategic data visualisation in Power BI. This was key for giving DogfyDiet access to the "power" that data provides, with real-time visibility into their business and the impact of their decisions.
The big win for DogfyDiet was moving from looking at individual data points and metrics to bringing all the information together to understand real behaviour patterns. And that translated into results that speak for themselves:
+92% in lead-to-customer conversion thanks to experience personalisation.
+180% access to the private area with a specific design for returning users.
+66% in online sales thanks to the various initiatives carried out together.
What if the challenge isn't about getting to know your users, but knowing your website in detail? When Grandvalira started working with Boost, the challenge was quite different: their web analytics wasn't very accurate and they couldn't truly understand the results their website was generating. This led them to make decisions (especially marketing ones) based on incomplete or even incorrect data.
Before jumping into redesigns, experiments or A/B tests, the first thing we did was completely reorganise Grandvalira's web analytics to improve the starting point. The goal was for their digital business to be able to trust its data again and make reliable decisions.
Complete reconfiguration of GA4 and Google Tag Manager — We made sure their data collection was as accurate as possible and reflected the reality of their business as closely as possible.
Server-side tracking for greater reliability — We opted for this system to ensure Grandvalira had better control over their data and could be confident it really corresponded to what was actually happening.
Clearer visualisation of their campaigns, promotions and user behaviour — So that Grandvalira could take advantage of their data, we made sure to design a dashboard that let them clearly identify which banners or campaigns were generating results and thus invest their efforts (and money) more wisely.
The lesson for Grandvalira was clear: you can't optimise what you don't understand. And you can't understand what you don't measure properly. The redesign and optimisation of their web analytics provided a new way of understanding data and laid the foundations for better decision-making. Thanks to this, they achieved +€276,000 in direct revenue.
It all comes back to data. To proper collection, analysis and visualisation of data. Every self-respecting digital business that grows at a strong pace has good digital analytics. It may not be visible from the outside, but all successful companies have this in common:
They set very clear business objectives before starting to measure and collect data.
They rely on their own data, which is always well-structured and up to date.
They focus on identifying real frictions and opportunities (not assumptions based on intuition).
They personalise their experience and messaging as much as possible.
They have data visualisation that focuses on what matters, not on all the information.
They measure the real impact in real time of all their business decisions.
They constantly iterate their design and experience applying a clear logic: test → analyse → improve.
It's not about luck, it's about focusing your business better. And that's within reach of any digital business willing to build reliable web analytics to consistently lean on when making decisions.
At Boost we help all kinds of digital businesses turn their data into profitable decisions for their business. We believe in the power of data as a growth engine. And our clients have seen it for themselves.
